Satisfactory is a big and complex game that can be expanded and refined for a very long time and we believe that there is a community of factory builders out in the world that would love to join us to create this beast of a game together. We want to involve players, see how they play and iterate the game based on that. Going Early Access will help us build an awesome factory-building game and help us focus on the right things moving forward. We hope to work on this game for years to come and make something truly special.

We are not entirely sure what would qualify as a 1. There are still a bunch of performance, design and visual issues and the game is far from perfect. Having said that the game is in a state where you can have a lot of fun and enjoy tons of hours of gameplay, single or multiplayer.

If you are into building factories and adventure in a vast unexplored world, we think that you are going to like Satisfactory a lot! We will keep on reading the discussions and talking to our community. We use Discord, our own up-vote forum, in-game bug reports, surveys etc. This process is likely something that we will iterate on as well. We have an experimental branch where we want to push in early content for future stable updates for those who want to opt in and help us test it.

We expect the price to increase once we go 1.Satisfactory can be a bit of a daunting experience at first. The game shoots you down onto an alien planet and immediately expects you to start building up a giant super factory. It can be a bit much to handle at the very beginning. This guide will show how to be as productive and as efficient as humanly possible.

The Rocky Desert is easier to traverse and has better opportunities for building, but there are limited amounts of biomass. The Northern Forest has tons of biomass, but the surrounding area is smaller and harder to build around.

The Hub is basically your home base, so you want to make sure you choose a good location. The best place to build would be somewhere close to mineral deposits such as iron and copper.

Iron is going to be incredibly important in the early game, so a location with tons of mineable iron would be the best place to set up shop.

Mining materials is a big part of the game. The Hub computer gives you things called Milestones, which are goals that require materials to be fed into the computer. Later Milestones will also require parts made from those materials. You have a scanner which can be used to look around for iron, and then other minerals later on.

These will give you more minerals for less effort. Deposits are often guarded by enemies, so you may have to fight them off. You are given a Xeno-Zapper, which is essentially a cattle prod, that you can use to defend yourself. Crafting is a big part of the game. The Hub comes with a handy little crafting table built right into it. You want to do all the Milestones in Tier 0 and Tier 1, as they will unlock buildings, machines, blueprints, and equipment that will make your life so much easier.

Build this immediately! The Equipment Bench will allow you craft portable miners, which can then be placed on the deposits and will automatically mine iron, copper, or any other mineral for you. You unlock the ability to build the Miner Mk.

This will mine way faster than the Portable Miner does on its own. This is also around the time where conveyor belts will start to become a big part of the game. Once your Miner Mk. This belt can then be attached to a Smelter, which will turn the raw materials into ingots. Now from here, you can build something called a Constructor, which will turn the ingots into parts.

For example, if you build a Miner Mk. Then, you can build a conveyor belt that connects to a Constructor, so the ingots are fed into the Constructor and turned into either iron plates or iron rods.

To finish, you can build yet another conveyor belt to something called a Storage Container, which will store all of the finished product for you. Each machine will require a power source.

In the early game, your main way to power up your machines is going to be the Biomass Burner. Biomass is essentially any flora and fauna you find around the alien planet. At the Crafting Bench, you can break down leaves and wood into biomass, which can then fuel your Biomass Burners.But the game gets real complicated real fast! Having an efficient start to your playthrough can make a huge impact on the rest of your game and give you a major jumpstart.

One thing that is not made clear, but completely changed the game for me when I discovered it, is that connecting your power generators via power poles increases the total capacity of your power grid. Essentially, you want to make sure everything you have that creates power is connected in some way via power poles and power lines.

Technically you could just split the power evenly between two non-connected power sources. But it will be much easier to keep track of if your entire system is connected. Copper is plentiful, and is one of the first resources you find along with iron. However, it only goes into producing wires and then cables. Meanwhile I have 5 iron miners by comparison! It may seem logical that one miner should supply one smelter, and one smelter should supply one constructor.

However, that is far from the case. In the early game, you should unlock splitters and mergers as soon as possible to make better use of your ore. You can easily split the resources from a miner into two or three conveyors each going into a different smelter. The new buildings will make the game more fun and make your factories better, so the earlier you unlock those, the better.

It will also help unlock other things like a larger player inventory, which is super useful when exploring for materials. Satisfactory beginners will be in awe of each new discovery, so go at a pace that is comfortable for your learning curve. Getting upgrades until you get to the coal generator is essential to the early game. Crafting biomass is fine for a while, but ultimately you will want coal because it can be entirely automated.

Coal will save you a lot of time in the early game so you can discover and create more things. Check to see if they have a stack of items or whatever the maximum stack of that material is on the input or even output end at all times. If so, you should periodically add those stacks of materials into your inventory.

Then you can take all of that to a craft bench and make whatever item you want to have. This can accelerate your progress in the earlier parts of the game.

Hopefully this Satisfactory beginners guide helps you get an efficient start to the game, rather than floundering around. We certainly encourage you to experiment on your own and completely ignore our advice. But if you want to get right to the good stuff, this is the way to go!

Where possible, choose the largest, flattest areas to start constructing your factory in. A few minutes spent exploring to find the biggest areas can pay off by giving you less headaches down the road from not having room to fit everything in. Impure resource nodes have a lower output of materials, only half that of a normal node.

Pure nodes, on the other hand, are double that of normal ones. Try to find something better than an impure node where possible, as the end result will be much slower resource gathering and item creation.

Also note that you have to manually mine chunks of resource above the ground before being able to build a miner on top of them.

It pays off to unlock new stuff as soon as you can. You can track multiple things at once if you wish, expanding or minimising them as you go. As for the milestones, you can select these to show a reminder in the top-right of the resources you need. Oh, and power poles can be used as a ladder, which is a nifty bonus. Hogs can be a bit of a bugger to deal with in the beginning. There are a couple of effective ways to fight them, however.

One of the most effective methods is to jump as they run at you. Time it right and you can quick look downwards mid-air and hit them with your stun gun. Then the upper hand is yours. Note that hogs drop alien carapaces. Build portable miners in the beginning from the Equipment Workshop, equip them then deploy on a resource node.

A Main Bus is one of the most widely-used factory designs among Factorians for its flexibility and ease-of-use. A well-designed Main Bus can help you build a neat and efficient factory that is able to supply all the products you need. And the character saw they that they were good Starting Out.

Assembly lines are best placed so that they run perpendicular to the Main Bus. This allows for expanability of systems, and easy pulling from the Bus. Many different products share similar intermediate product needs, so they can share input lines.
